Hurry up and register for the 12th Triglav Run

We are counting down to the traditional Triglav Run set to take place on 7 September at Brdo pri Kranju

Do you enjoy running in beautiful settings and have new running goals for the end of summer? Don't miss out on the traditional Triglav Run, which will take place for the 12th time on Saturday, 7 September 2024, in the heart of the Brdo pri Kranju estate. In addition to the traditional running routes and a rich events programme, this year's new introduction is an inclusive route for people with reduced mobility. Registration is open on the triglavtek.si website only until Monday, 2 September; after this date, you can still register at the race bib pick-up points, where attractive benefits await runners, and on the day of the event.

Triglav Run invites runners to the 21 km half marathon, the 10 km and 5 km races, the 3.4 km family race and the 350 m and 700 m Kuža Pazi (Willy Watchdog) children's runs. New this year is a 1400 m inclusive route, in which those with mobility impairments will be able to complete on asphalt with no timing.

The event organisers emphasise that the Triglav Run is more than a competition and a chase for time. In addition to experienced and recreational runners and their fans, the event also welcomes people with reduced mobility or various medical conditions. Children from the Gold Ribbon Institute (Slovenian: Inštitut Zlata pentljica) will attend the event again this year, and runners will receive medals made at the Kranj Care and Work Centre.

Runners can check the difficulty and routes’ special features on the event’s website, and register for the 12th Triglav Run here by Monday, 2 September. After this date, registration is only possible at the race bib pick-up points and on the day of the event until all the spots are filled. Race bibs can be collected:

- on Wednesday and Thursday, 4 and 5 September, between 08:00 and 18:00 at Triglav Lab at Dunajska 20 in Ljubljana,
- on Friday, 6 September, between 16:00 and 19:00 at the Brdo pri Kranju venue,
on the day of the event, between 07:00 and 09:30 at the Brdo pri Kranju venue.

When picking up their number tags at Triglav Lab, runners can enjoy exciting benefits designed to improve their psycho-physical fitness and prepare them for the race:

- on Wednesday, 4 September, between 10:00 and 17:00, they can take part in body composition measurements (Imperium Sport, institute for research in sport), and between 15:00 and 18:00 pm, they can have an individual discussion with orthopaedist Bogdan Ambrožič, if they make an appointment in advance (registration form is available here)
- on Thursday, 5 September, from 10:00 to 17:00, they can consult a GenePlanet expert about which genetic factors influence running performance. From 16:00 to 17:00, a resuscitation workshop (IHelp) will be held on the platform in front of the Triglav Lab.

A beautiful outdoor setting and the company of athletes
Triglav Run is also special because of its remarkable location and unparalleled running trails. It is the only sports and social event that opens the gates of the Brdo pri Kranju estate, which boasts rich cultural and natural heritage. Runners can enjoy the gorgeous scenery along the well-maintained running trails, which can be seen on the video.

The event is one of the activities the Triglav Group uses to encourage the general public to adopt a healthy lifestyle and exercise, both of which contribute significantly to the psychological and physical health. Top Slovenian athletes – the ambassadors of Triglav Run – are helping the company in this endeavour. This year, the event will be attended by Jakov Fak, Peter Prevc, Žan Košir, Rok Marguč, Timi Zajc, Lara Rajterič, Nika Vodan, Robi Kogovšek and a player from the Slovenian national football team, among others.

A varied accompanying programme will ensure a good atmosphere. Visitors will be able to enjoy the music of Samuel Lucas & The Groove Station, and the acrobatics of the Dunking Devils. Child minding and entertainment for the youngest visitors will be available.

Sustainable, charitable and inclusive
For many years, the Triglav Group has been making donations to healthcare institutions at the event and this year is no exception, as the runners will be running for a good cause – better care for newborn babies. The donation of EUR 16,000 will be handed over to the Slojenčki association, which aims to improve conditions for children to be born healthy.

The event also helps fulfil the goals of the Let’s Secure the Future project, thus forming part of the Triglav Group’s sustainable operations. This year, the event organisers will again place particular emphasis on sustainability. Among other things, runners will be able to enjoy a hot meal of locally produced food. In addition, the organisers call on runners to work together to keep the landscape of the Brdo pri Kranju estate clean and encourage them to come to the event by sustainable forms of transport.

Runners can also invite their friends and acquaintances and help make Triglav Run 2024 an event to remember. They can further use the last days before the event to prepare themselves for the challenge psychologically and physically by joining a group of runners at the Triglav Run Club on Strava.
